How We Met

Michael and I first met through mutual friends of ours, Joe and Natalie, while he and Joe were attending law school at Nova Southeastern University. While I'm not sure when our first encounter was, my earliest memory of him is at a Halloween party where he dressed up as "The Punisher"...how lame. I think he instantly thought I was cool for knowing who the character was. We became friends and saw each other every now and then through our mutual friends.

After law school, Michael moved back to Tampa to prepare and study for the Bar exam. While visiting friends and taking a break from the studying in Fort Lauderdale, we began to see each other more often without our other friends tagging along. It took him a while, but he finally asked me out in December of 2009 and we went on our first date to Tipico Cafe in Fort Lauderdale. Eventually, our schedules and distance got the best of us and the relationship fizzled only after a few short months.

We kept in touch and after a while, Michael moved back to Fort Lauderdale (more specifically, Plantation), when he landed a job at a law firm with our friend, Joe. We saw each other quite often once he moved back but we were both hesitant in starting up something new since it didn't quite work out the way we planned the first time around. Well, as you know, this story does have a happy ending and we went on our second first date in February 2012. He had taken me to Tarantella's in Weston where, while he had been there before, he got lost (go figure!) trying to get us there. I'm sure he thought that I would surely bail and he had lost the opportunity to win me over...again. That wasn't the case and we still laugh about that night.
